Florida State Parks Along A1A

Here is a fun fact—the only state with more state parks than Florida is New York. Florida has 175 state parks and nine state trails. Of these, you can easily get to 42 of these Florida gems along your A1A experience. The photo above is at Big Talbot Island State Park in Jacksonville—home to Boneyard Beach.

There are a couple underwater parks, a couple of island parks that you will most likely use a kayak to get to, and another that you will traverse throughout much of the Florida Keys. Also, both the first and last park you can visit along A1A has a fort—that should make you feel protected, don’t you think?

If you plan to visit many (or all) of these parks along A1A, I suggest that you consider a Florida State Parks family annual pass for $120. More information can be found here.

For a nice keepsake, order a Florida State Parks Passport; the kids especially will love to collect stamps from state park rangers during visits to each park. Click here for more information.
